New Update

Negotiation Skills (22 March)

We are always negotiating to get something we wish. However, do we deal? Actualy, there are some techniques to negotiate. First, we should know the person we want to negotiate. Then, we should consider what good outcome would be for us and the other side. Next, we identify our Best Alternative to Negotiated Agreement (BATNA) and Reservation Price, and do the some for the other side. We should also set up our Zone of Possible Agreement (ZOPA). Lastly, alter the negotiation process until we get the deal.

BATNA- A preferred course of action in the absence of deal.

Reservation Price- The least favorable point at which one will accept a deal.

ZOPA- A set of agreement that may satisfy both parties.

During the lesson, the trainer, Mr Hisham had held a game for us. We needed to write a question to whose we would like to ask. Then, we answer the question by randomly chosen. I was surprising because there were three questions for me. I did not realize that the other trainees would like to know more about me. Was that because I was quiet in class? I did not get the answer. However, this game gave me a sign I should expressed myself more frequently.

Article Writing (23-24 March)

This lesson was conducted by a journalist, Liew Suet Fun. The trainer taught us how to write article creatively. This lesson was important for us because we might need to write article in the future. Besides that, writing was also one type of effective communication. However, I was quite bore because to write article creatively was difficult for me.

Neuro Liguistic Programing (25 March)

NLP was an interesting lesson. It introduced me the power of our subconcious mind. Actually, our mind was so powerfull until we can create miracle. By reprogramed our subconcious mind, we can deleted negative thougth and help us to be success. This lesson taught us how to control our emotion to reach success. Our emotion was related to our mind too. Positive emotion related to positive thinking and vice versa. Thus, by controling our emotion we can do whatever we want.

Communication Concept and Skills (26 March)

To communicate effectively is very tough. This is because if others cannot receive your message, you are failing to communicate. No matter you think you are a good communicator, you still face many inteferences to communicate. These interferences might be language barrier, culture barrier, age barrier and others. Thus, we need to recognize what are the interferences we need to face before we communicate.

Communication is no only related to speech content, but most importantly related to our body language. Remember, do not ever let other misunderstood your body language if you want to communicate effectively. Try to communicate with the use of different media such as internet, fax, and telefon besides face to face meeting.

Powerful Presentation Skills (29-31 March)

To present effectively in front of public is challenging. However, we need to learn how to present because we need always present during working. The most important thing we need to know in presentation is confident. Without confident, we even cannot present because if we are not confident with ourselves, it is impossible we can convince the others. Next, the time management in presentation is very important. Usually, the audience cannot pay too long attention to us, thus we need to direct to the point, clear and finish in short period. To catch the audience attention in presentation, we need to interact with the audience or make the presentation more interesting by give good visual aids, emotion and amazing facts.

Presentaion (1 April)

All of us needed to present individualy to check how much we have learn. We can choose any topics we liked and presented in front of class. I have choosed the topic “The Improvement for KTM Commuter Service”. Before presentaion, I was nervous because I was worried my language. However, I would able to present until the end. The evaluaters gave the comments after each presentation so that we can improve ourselves. My problems during presentation were the language, lack eyes contact, and interaction with the audience. This was a good experience for me.

Recent activities......

Body Language (17 March)

By survey, the body language makes up 55% in communication while 38% is voice and tone and last 7% is content of speech. This shows that our body parts can deliver the message to the others! We have to be careful of our body language because it may show the others our real feeling. Therefore, we need to correct our body language which may confuse and cause misunderstanding to the others.

Through this lesson, I learned that I must improve my eye contact to the audience during presentation. Besides, by observing the other calssmates interview, I learned that we must confident and do not answer interviewer before we are clear to the questions asking. This is because we may misunderstanded to the question and answered wrongly. However, do not always ask interviewer to repeat questions because this show that your listening skill and undestanding were poor.

Grooming and Dinner Etiqutte (18 March)

It was very interesting to have this lesson. The trainers teached us the dinner etiqutte because we might got breakfast and lunch interview in the future. Besides, we were also learned how to impress the others by improving our physical apprearance.
